How To Create A Microsoft Azure Storage Account For iKonomikal Cloud ERP Database Backup

Requirements:

  • Microsoft Account
  • Microsoft Azure Subscription

Steps To Create Storage Account:

 

  • The Microsoft Azure Portal dashboard opens, click “Storage accounts”.

 

  • The Storage account opens, click “+ Add”.

 

  • The Create storage account opens, enter the required information.
    • Pay attention to the following fields:
      • Name – the name must be unique and appropriate.
      • Deployment model – select “Resource manager”.
      • Account kind – select “General purpose”.
      • Performance – select “Standard”.
      • Replication – select “Geo-redundant storage (GRS)”.
      • Storage service encryption – select “Disabled”.
      • Subscription – select “Pay-As-You-Go” or what ever you have subscribed for (if its a trial, it will be named as Trial).
      • Resource Group – select “Create New” and then on the textbox below, enter an appropriate name for the group. You can also select “Use existing” if at this point you already have an existing resource group.
      • Location – select a Microsoft Azure region to where you are nearest (For example: “West Europe”. FYI: Microsoft Azure Regions.
    • Review and compare your options as shown on the image, and then click “Create”.

 

  • The new storage account will now be created and at the same the Create storage account window closes. You have to wait until a confirmation comes up.

 

  • You can monitor the storage account creation by clicking the bell icon located at the top right corner of the page.

 

  • When the storage account is created, you will see a “Deployments succeeded” message with a green check mark to its left, click it.

 

  • Your new Storage Account opens, click “Blobs”.

 

  • The Blob service opens.
    • Click “+ Container”.
    • Pay attention to the following fields:
      • Name – enter the name of the New container or the folder to where the database will be saved.
      • Access type – select “Blob”. Note: the access type must be BLOB and nothing else.
    • Click “Create”.

 

  • When the container creation succeeds, you should see it at the blob services list. Take note of the Blob service container name, you will use it to configure the database backup schedule in iKonomikal Cloud ERP. Click the close button at the top right corner.

 

  • The Storage account reappears, click “Access Keys”.

 

  • The Storage Account – Access Keys opens, take note and copy the following:
    • Storage account name
    • key1

Note: You will use these as well to configure the database backup schedule in iKonomikal Cloud ERP.

 

  • You should already have the following information up to this point:
    • Storage account name
    • key1
    • Blob service container name

 

  • Congratulations you now have an active Microsoft Azure Storage Account that you can use to store your Database backup.
